This was for Joann, a local realtor, as requested by her husband for her birthday! Unfortunately, her hubby ordered the cake flavor that she does NOT like (men!) but she thought it was cute anyway.
When I teach my cake decorating classes or bake at home, I wear an apron. When I don my apron, my mind goes into cake decorator mode. Everything else is secondary. And when you put on a fabulous apron, not some frumpy, old, stained number, then you're really cooking! You're not just a cake decorator or cook, you're the awesomest cake decorator or cook! (Yeah, I know that's not really a word, but I love it.) I have one of these fabulous aprons. What makes it fabulous? It makes you look fabulous, and you feel fabulous! It's fun, flirty AND does what it's supposed to do--protect your clothes. Here's mine: Women's Apron Marilyn Sugar n' Spice My fabulous apron comes from the charming site Flirty Aprons ! Their aprons are fun, flirty, sweet and sassy, all at once. Put one on and you feel stylish but you're still protected from spills and stains. Brilliant. Photo from Google Images As I mentioned recently, I was a Career Day speaker at my daughter's elementary school for the second year in a row! Hershey’s, Nestle Toll House, etc. I use either Hershey's Special Dark or Nestle Toll House, but you can use whichever brand you prefer) * 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened * 5 to 6 tablespoons milk, divided * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions: Beat 1 cup powdered sugar, cocoa, butter, 2 tablespoons milk an...
I stumbled upon these adorable cupcake boxes this week; how have I never seen these before?! I make cakes and cupcakes for a living! These are truly some of the cutest cupcake boxes I've come across, and I've seen many. They're sized for cupcakes, but could surely house party favors, candy and anything else you care to put in a 3.25" wide x 3.75" high space. They're available in several different kid-friendly themes, but I am in a nostalgic mood today so my favorites are: Goodnight, Moon Cupcake Boxes! These. Are. Too. Cute. Wishing I had a tiny kid at my house right now so I can throw a Little Golden Books party! Again, so adorable. But the designs are not limited to nostalgic themes; I love this Safari kids theme that would be perfect for your animal cupcakes: Safari Friends Cupcake Boxes You can see more of this cuteness--what a TREAT-- at The Party Works' online cake decorating store or visit them through Sweetest...
